Paula Sunday was born on January 19, 1981, in Naples, the same day that Francesca Woodman committed suicide by jumping out of the window of her Manhattan apartment. After studying painting, Paula turned to photography. From her earliest projects, the use of her own body, particularly self-portraits as a form of representation, has been an essential element of her work. For PS, being both subject and object in her staging is not only a performative act but also a narrative tool, giving the body a revealing function of time, the world, and the humanity that inhabits it.
